the beauty post | barry m 'matt white'

barry m nail varnish - 'matt white' - £3.99
so today i painted my nails quite a weird colour. i honestly don't even know why i picked up white nail varnish a few months ago, i think it was when everyone suddenly started wearing white stillettos and because i am incapable of walking in stillettos, i decided to jump on the bandwagon on my nails.
the first time i used this polish, it reminded me of two things; 1) essex (white shoes, white teeth) and 2) when i used to get bored at school and paint my nails with tippex.
so earlier when i decided to change my nail colour, i don't know for the love of me why i chose this colour, never mind paint both my finger and toe nails! that s*** cray.
but alas, i did so i thought i may as well tell you lovely people about it..
i should also apologise for the awful nail painting attempt, i'm usually quite good when it comes to painting my nails but it seems that white nail varnish really shows up all the mistakes you make!
the name of this varnish is a little misleading, as i found it to be in no way matte. as you can see from the pictures, its a very glossy and blinding finish with not one hint of matte about it! then again, it is spelt like the boy's name matt, so maybe they didn't mean it that way at all!
i needed three coats of the polish to make it opaque on the nails, and even then it wasn't completely streak free. the consistency is really weird, it's quite thick and hard to paint evenly over the nails - i had a really hard time on the first two layers and thought there was no way on earth it would ever even itself out!

all in all, this nail varnish was a really random buy. it's definitely not a colour that i would wear all the time, but it does look really good with a tan! the only thing i would say is that you can't go putting your fingers up next to your teeth, as it makes them look really yellow - even simon cowell would have problems and his teeth are like a lightbulb.
i bought it on a whim and even though it won't be featuring on my nails a lot, i think it's a really good novelty buy that would get you a lot of attention - especially if you were out clubbing under uv lights! i'll probably be painting my nails with this when i go on holiday to ibiza this summer to make my tan seem even darker.

now please excuse me whilst i go watch my nails constantly - having your nails this bright a colour makes you hyper-aware of where your nails are and what they are up to 24/7!

p.s; sorry if i sounded super hyper and like i was off on a tangent for most of this post, i had a coffee an hour ago and i think its finally kicking in -- my bad!

the clothes i bought from topshop shall be making a swift appearance soon as i can't wait to wear what i bought! (i got a bikini from river island which i might put a photo up of, as it really is lovely so even if i can't(/wouldn't ever!) do an outfit post of it you can still have a gander!

i'm going out tonight seen as it's bank holiday and am so excited! i can't wait to get out and have a little boogie. has anyone else got any plans for the bank holiday?

the style post | get your legs out

lace crop top - h&m | denim skater skirt - topshop (similar here) | cross necklace - primark | rings - h&m and primark |
nails: nails inc. - marble arch

finally, i can reintroduce my legs to the outdoors! after being cooped up for so long it feels just lovely to get them out again!
i bought this skirt the other day when i went shopping - everyone seems to have this skirt recently and i can see why - it's so flattering and comfy and definitely my go-to skirt for summer! i can't wait to go and get more crop tops to wear with it!
i threw on my recent h&m buy, this crop top. i really am enjoying wearing crop tops at the minute and will have to invest in quite a few more for the summer!
i added some summery coral and turquoise rings and painted my nails this gorgeous colour from nails inc. and hey-ho there you go! sadly, all i'm doing today is food shopping, cleaning the house and doing some uni work - no enjoying this lovely weather for me (booo!)
hope everyone is having a lovely day!

the beauty post | Benefit R.S.V.P creaseless eyeshadow

today i'll be talking about a creaseless eyeshadow by benefit in the shade 'R.S.V.P'. i got this a little while ago in a giftset but never used it until recently, as I just passed it off as another boring old cream eyeshadow. and how wrong was i?! very, that's what.
'R.S.V.P' is a shimmery bronze shade that is very illuminating on the skin. as you can see from the swatch, it really catches the light and changes from bronze to silver very easily.
day to day i just wear this eyeshadow slicked over the lid, as you can see from the pictures. it is super quick and simple, and looks like i've spent much longer on my make up than i actually have!
for nighttime looks i generally use this as a primer for powder eyeshadows, such as those in my MUA palette. it really amps up golden eyeshadows and makes it last all night, much like the MAC primer pots.
quality-wise, this eyeshadow is amazing! it definitely lives up to its 'creaseless' promises and even better it lasts for so long - alone, it lasted for more than 12 hours on myself, even though my lids can get rather oily.
all in all i'm super impressed with this cream eyeshadow. it's a great all-rounder and worth every penny. when i eventually finish this pot i will be investing in another!

my pot was part of a giftset, and therefore is only 3.2g, whilst the normal pots are £15.50 for 4.5g.

IN OTHER NEWS completely unrelated,,
i can't believe this but i have been featured on www.yournexttop.com after they liked one of my outfit posts! i can't believe it after i have only been blogging for a couple of weeks and it was so lovely to find out! thanks!
