the beauty post | collection lipstick: valentine

collection lasting colour lipstick in 'valentine' - £2.99 | real techniques detailer brush (part of core collection)
i've always been a fan of a bold lip - it's something that i always love to wear whether it's daytime or nighttime and can really pull a look together or make it look like you've put more effort into your make up than you actually have.

my favourite red lipstick has got to be 'valentine' from collection (2000). it's a classic red which is part of their 'lasting colour' group and has a sheen to it on the bullet. i find this lipstick to be so versatile and there are different ways to apply it which completely change how it works.
for example, you can use the lipstick straight from the bullet which creates a vibrant sheen to it that is very silky and moisturising on the lips.
you could also use a fine, small brush to apply the product, which is what i personally prefer. it means that you can vary how much product you apply and i also find that it makes the colour become much more matte and wearable for during the day. for this i generally use the RT detailer brush as i find it does the job so well.

in terms of lasting power, this lipstick fares surprisingly well, considering it is a budget product. i found it lasted at least 4 hours before i even needed to apply anymore and to say this lipstick only costs £3 i was pleasantly surprised and really pleased.

i really am a budget make up kind of girl, and am always happy when i find products like this that really work and are worth the money, and i would definitely recommend going and checking it out if you're on the lookout for a red lipstick with staying power.
