style | River Island wishlist

I'll be honest, I've never really been a fan of River Island. I always found them to be way too girly and over the top for me, but all that has changed in the past year or so. I actually find their clothes to be really lovely and right up my street nowadays - they seem to be much more minimalist and just my cup of tea.

But sadly I'm on a mini spending ban at the minute (too many holidays, not enough shifts at work) so instead of buying clothes from RI, let's just wish about them..

How beautiful?! These light pink pumps have gold detailing on the tiny heel and mock-croc on the toe. Just so classic and easy to wear - although I'd have to see these in person because for £20, I'd hope they'd be really hard-wearing and well made!

Oh, I've wanted one of these babies for so long - I've even gone into the store a few times to try one on and yet I've never got round to buying it! It's really lovely, made out of a quality material and just really easy to wear. I've also got my eye on the cream one - which is surprisingly not see through - which is good for us!

Definitely a bit of a splurge, but I always think that you really pay for the quality in chelsea boots - especially ones that you'll be wearing for the whole of autumn/winter. These are just the classic style which I'm really loving at the moment.

These are cigarette trousers - and I love the print of them - it isn't too in your face and would look lovely with a few of the other pieces I've picked out in this wishlist. I could actually create a beautiful outfit couldn't I! So yep - structured trousers which I think are great for the next few seasons.

I'm not a big fan of skater dresses but this one really caught my eye - I just think it's really classy and easy to dress up or down. Just very pretty and my favourite dress from the site.

And finally, my favourite piece from this wishlist: how beautiful is this jacket?! I've always loved two tone jackets and textured leather details, and I think this jacket is just so classy and understated. Must. Hold. Back. From. Online. Shopping.

What's your favourite piece from this wishlist? Do you like RI?

style | topshop wishlist

It's come to that time again when I've been finding myself wishing i was a millionaire and could afford everything on this wishlist. Although if I WAS a millionaire, would i even be shopping at Topshop or would this be an 'Alexander McQueen wishlist' instead?

Well anyway let's not beat round the bush and get into the depressingly fun topic of lusting after clothes we all wish we could afford..

First off we have this lovely boyfriend coat in a pale blue/mint colour. How pretty is this coat?! I've been lusting after a pastel coloured coat for months now but shelling out £75 on one when I have dozens of other coats is really holding me back. If only it was from Primark and cost £20 instead!

I also found this gingham dress while looking through the party dresses and cannot help but love it. I'm in love with a-line skirts and dresses at the moment and I love the cutout detailing, neckline and mixed patterns. I think it almost looks like a 21st Century Dorothy and now that I've said it I'm thinking of buying this dress just for the AWESOME fancy dress idea!

Next up I found these two pieces that would actually make a lovely '60s-esque outfit. First off is this lovely mint green textured jumper, with 3/4 length sleeves. I'm currently loving jumpers and tops with these mid-length sleeves because it's the perfect length for the in-between weather we've got at the minute in England! So pretty but I'm not convinced it's worth the £36 price tag.

Another thing that isn't going to be hanging in my wardrobe anytime soon is this STUNNING a-line skirt. It's from the Boutique brand so has an astronomical price tag, but look at how preeedy it is! This is genuinely what I consider the perfect skirt just because of the shape and pattern but alas this love is unrequited as I'd never spend £100 on a skirt!

Finally, in the accessories corner i found these studded nude heels which are actually in the sale with £25 off. They don't seem to look the nicest shade of nude in this picture but on the model they look much nicer! I've always loved studded heels and think these have just the right amount to look understated and pretty.

And then i found these little earrings which have mint and pale pink details within the diamonds (fake!). This drop-down style of earring is what I personally love just because I think they look really elegant and the colours on this pair is are so on trend.

So there we go, another wishlist that makes me wish for a bigger bank account as well!
Do you like any of my choices? Have you been lusting after it all as well?

Let me know what you think!

style | New Look purchases

So the other day I decided that I really needed to get some clothes for summer. I'm going to London for a few days at the end of May and wanted to get some clothes that will be warm enough to wear even if the weather isn't that nice (it is England after all!). I went online to New Look with the mindset to only put things in my basket that are colourful and summery and not monochrome, which I have a penchant for wearing.

I think we can all clearly say that I failed on that! I bought all black and white which is so frustrating but hey ho, maybe I can paint my nails bright colours instead!

1. White Stripe Pocket Tunic Dress (£19.99); First up I decided to buy this striped tunic. I've seen one similar in Tosphop for around the £27 mark, but thought this one was lovely and I really love the detailing on the pockets. Plus, anything with pockets just makes me love it even more (is this just me?!). I think this will be lovely with a pair of sandals and floppy hat.

2. Black V Neck Strappy Jumpsuit (£22.99); I've been wanting a jumpsuit for a while now, just because I think they are so versatile and can look really lovely on a night out as well as during the day. I love the straps and cinched in waist and think it'll be really flattering. This one is an online exclusive.

3. Black Strappy Midi Dress (£17.99); I've also wanted to delve into the world of midi dresses and think that this one is a pretty simple one to ease me in. I just think it would look lovely with a tan and, again, can be dressed up or down.

4. Leather Look Tunic (£10 down from £22.99); This was definitely a really random buy for me. I just saw it on the model and thought it looked pretty weird, but for £10 I might as well give it a go! I do like this style of dress and think it could look nice on a night out. I'm just worried that it won't actually fit me that well just because I have a big chest!

So these are my most recent orders from New Look that should be arriving any day now. Hopefully they will all look very pretty - and if they do you'll be the first to know with a bunch of outfit posts going up!
I've also got my eye on these gladiator sandals and this lovely maroon hat so might have to make another order soon!

What do you think?

'Mean Girls' gift ideas

Mean Girls is by far one of my favourite and most-watched films. I'm pretty sure I know literally every word and me and my best friend are well known to have conversations of just MG quotes (is that sad?!).

Last week I bought two lovely cushions as presents for my sister and best friend for Christmas. They both have hilarious little MG quotes on them and that got me thinking of what other gifts there are based on MG and if any of them were actually any good. I'm pretty pleased with the ones I've pulled together here and think they'd be lovely little gift ideas for any friends or family members who love the film.

Firstly we have one of the most amazing mugs I've ever seen. I'm considering buying one for my best friend and making her present MG-themed as a hilarious joke. I've actually done that with her before as her last name is Hines so I once bought her lots of things to do with Heinz beans, such as a money pot, a mug, and a baked bean recipe book. I'm still pretty impressed with myself on that one! Anywho - back to the mug. This is such a cute little present and I think it's pretty good money for just over £10.

We then have the typical 'you can't sit with us' tee. I've seen these floating about the fashion bloggers world, mainly on the likes of Rosie Glow. I think these slogan tees are so fashionable and humourous and I really think I might end up buying one of these - or possibly one of the hat versions instead!

I then found this really lovely phone case for the iphone 4 (I think). I really love this and am trying to hold back from buying it myself! I love the black and white pattern on the back and how it isn't an obvious in-your-face MG slogan. Plus it has one of the best quotes from the film on it too!

Finally we have this canvas full of all of the MG quotes. I do think that this is a bit of a cheap/tacky looking canvas and I can't really see me putting this up on my wall or buying it for someone else, but I really love how it contains all of my favourite quotes!

Also, I just thought I'd share a picture of the cushions I picked up myself. I got these from a lovely vintage store in Preston and haven't been able to find them online anywhere so sorry about that!

Are you a fan of 'Mean Girls'? Would you buy any of these?

the sunday post | topshop wishlist

playsuit || jumpsuit || heels || bag || lipstick

don't you just love those times when you're trying to stop spending money and then find yourself on the topshop website.. here are some of my favourite pieces that i found today which caught my eye.

THE PLAYSUIT - £48
i've actually already bought this lovely playsuit in black (there's a picture of it on my instagram if you're interested - here.) and really love how wearable it is - i can dress it up or down really easily. i got told by the lovely chanelle that it also came in this powder blue colour, and i really am restraining to buy it in this colour as well! it's also a celeb favourite and was seen on michelle keegan recently.

THE JUMPSUIT - £48
i have never actually owned a jumpsuit but i really think they are so pretty - especially on a night out and in winter to keep you a little bit warmer! i think they would look nice on me because of how tall i am, and i definitely love the jacquard print on this one.

THE HEELS - £65
i will always have a love for a good chunky heel and these platforms are right up my street. they remind me of the zara platforms that came out recently and i've always found topshop heels to be really well made and sturdy. these are a little on the pricey side but i do think they are really versatile and i would get a LOT of wear out of them.

THE BAG - £60
this bag is such a beautiful colour - a really punchy orange shade. i think it would work wonders on a night out in a fully black outfit (maybe with the jumpsuit and heels in this post!). i'm also loving the little padlock detail on the front, and it is made from real leather so i bet it feels so damn soft. it's obviously really expensive so i think my love affair with this bag starts and ends with this post!

THE LIPSTICK - £6
i actually almost bought this lipstick in 'peach sundae' last week but opted for 'macaroon' instead which i reviewed here. it's just a lovely peachy matte shade which i think would probably have worked better over summer, but i might end up buying this on my next shop in topshop.

now does anyone have a spare £227 lying about so i can go and buy everything on this wishlist?!
please and thankyou.
