beauty | The Body Shop Vitamin E collection minis

I remember the first thing I ever got from The Body Shop. It was a little gift set of the Vitamin E collection, including the cleanser, toner and moisturiser. I was about 13 and had no idea what any of the products were actually meant to do - but I used them anyway and fell in love. They left my skin soft and smooth and I was very impressed! Can you believe it - a full skincare routine by accident at 13!

But of course things change and I started changing up what I use and getting lazier and eight years later I hadn't touched the Vitamin E collection. But a couple of weeks ago my skin started getting really dry - imagine cracked, flaky the entire ugly thing - and I decided I needed something pretty hardcore to combat it - but not something that's going to clog up my skin and make even more problems with spots.

The Body Shop is always really gentle on my skin so I decided to go back to the old school and check out the Vitamin E collection again.

Walking in, I found this cute little set of minis - which had all the bits I wanted as well as a night cream. It all came in this cute bag for only £10 - which I think is an amazing bargain. With each product coming in at just £2.50 (60ml of cleanser and toner, and 15ml of both moisture creams), you really can't go wrong.

In terms of the product itself, each one does a lovely job on my skin. Each one's got a nice unobvious scent and used together they make my skin as soft as I remember. I use the cleanser, toner and moisturiser every morning and then put the night cream on before bed, The night cream is pretty thick though so I put it on a couple of hours before bed so it has time to sink in and not clog my pores.

Overall I think this kit is perfect for either travelling or if you want to give the Vitamin E range a try before buying the full-sized products, I highly recommend this range from the Body Shop because of how gentle it is on the skin, and because it personally works wonders for me.

Have you tried this range before?

beauty | the Body Shop all-in-one BB cream

The Body Shop BB cream has taken the blogger world by storm - along with the Insta Blur primer. I decided to get this at Duty Free on my way home from my holiday - I'd run out of my trusty Garnier BB cream and wanted to try out something new.

This BB cream is a colour-adapting one; it goes on white and adapts to the colour of your skin - which is all well and good but I sometimes think it's just a bit of a plug and isn't really necessary.

I got mine in the shade 01 - the second lightest in the range (I'm pretty certain there's only four shades in the collection which is pretty small so it's a definite downside!). When it comes out of the tube, the substance is a white cream with little beads of colour through it - you can see it in the picture above.

When blended into the skin, it disappears to a sheer coverage and adds just a tint of colour. On the pictures above there seems to be an orange tinge but this really isn't noticeable on the skin in real life.

I just dot the product around my face and then blend it in using my fingers. It's quite a gritty texture as you blend it in - it's probably the small beads of colour that I explained before. From the pictures above you can see that the BB cream evens out my skin and gives a lovely amount of coverage. It's really light on the skin though and dries so quickly.

However, I would say that you definitely need to powder using this BB cream - or at least I do - as it seems to make my skin quite shiny and a little too luminescent. But I powder every day anyway so this is no fuss for me!

Overall, I do really like this BB cream. Although it's got a few downsides - such as the shiny-ness and it has quite a weird smell - I love the way it applies and the coverage it gives me.

Have you tried this BB cream? What do you think?

The Body Shop all-in-one BB cream in 01
Urban Decay Naked palette in Sin and Naked
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara in Black

Super quick and simple make up look today - with all the attention on the lips.

For my skin I used my new BB cream, which is colour adapting so very cool indeed. It goes on white and then blends out to the right colour for your skintone. So far I'm liking using it and hopefully a review will be up soon! Then I finished it off with my standard under eye concealer and powder.

I'm never one to wear eyeshadow during the day but I decided to wear Sin from the Naked palette over the lids and blended it out with Naked. Just a slick of eyeliner and a few coats of a new mascara I'm trying out - so far I'm impressed but I'll give it a little longer to really test it out!

And then with the lips I went for Revlon's matte lip colour for a pop - I'm wearing a monotone outfit so wanted a colour pop to brighten it all up. I love this colour but I find it seeping into dry spots if you don't prep with lip balm first!

beauty | lipstick collection

Just a quick post from me today, featuring my pretty tiny collection of lip products. I'm a huge fan of colour and lipsticks on other people, but feel that most of the time I can't pull it off or really just can't be bothered with it (too many touch ups/lipstick on teeth moments).
Although my collection is pretty damn tiny every lipstick is well loved and used pretty regularly though so I can't complain!

LIPSTICKS

L-R: The Body Shop '66' | Collection 'Pink Shock' | Rimmel/Kate Moss '101' | Collection 'Valentine'
Rimmel/Kate Moss '107' | Topshop 'Macaroon' | Rimmel Moisture Renew 'In Love With Ginger'

LIP PRODUCTS

L-R: Rimmel Apocolips 'Luna' | Benefit 'Benetint' | Revlon Colourburst 'Audacious'

I've reviewed quite a few of these lip products separately so check out the links below for individual reviews!

How big is your lipstick collection? Do you have any recommendations for me?!

the beauty post | FOTD

 B A S E

After applying my daytime moisturiser I went in with my Garnier BB cream. I don't usually wear anything but powder and concealer usually, but my skin has been getting really dry so I used this today for a bit of moisture. I do really like this BB cream and I use it in the colour 'light' - I've reviewed it here. I then use the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer under my eyes (review here) and the Collection concealer on any red bits. These are both my number one concealers but find that they can settle into lines so set them into place with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder (review here). I have this in the shade 'transparent' so I can use it whatever skin tone I am!

I then move onto my eyes and use my Holy Grail eyeliner - the Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner is so easy to use and I use it almost every day without fail. I've given an entire review already on it here so I won't ramble on about it any longer! I just did a very fine line along the lashes and then a small flick on the edge. I then go onto my waterline with the Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof eyeliner in 'nude'. This really brightens up my eyes and makes me look much more awake than I am! I then use the Benefit They're Real mascara on the top lashes and The Body Shop Define and Lengthen mascara on the bottom. These work really well together and I think using a lengthening mascara on the bottom lashes is really flattering.

On my lips I just used the Topshop lipstick in 'macaroon'. It's just a lovely blue-toned pink and such a flattering colour. I've already reviewed it here so go check that out if you fancy!

So this is my make up today, I hope you've enjoyed reading this and having a gander at my face!

Have you used any of these products?
