style | MATALAN

Topshop Brighton boots

Wow that's a lot of pictures!

So the other day I went out for lunch with my mum, and we decided to have a little look around Matalan on our way home. But what started as a little look around turned into a full hour and a half trying on what felt like the entire store.

In the end, I came away with these three items of clothes. Let's start with the boxy sky blue tee - which I ADORE. It's made out of a crepe-y material that just flows really nicely on the body. It's got jersey material around the neckline and a little zip down the back - but the thing I love most is the colour. This purple-blue colour is fast becoming my favourite shade - and I think it's one that can be worn all year round.

Next up is the red comfy jumper - it's got quite a fitted body and really long sleeves which I love - I'm always pulling jumpers down over my hands and this one is already the perfect length! I also love all the detailing on it, and all the knitwork that's gone into the design. It's such a lovely texture too - not scratchy at all which is one of my biggest peeves with jumpers.

And finally onto the main part of this post; the coat to beat all coats.
I've been after a beautiful pale blue coat for months now - and walking into Matalan this was the first thing I saw: FATE. It looks like grey, purple and blue in different lights which I think is really nice, and I love how it's lined as well. There are so many coats on the market for double the price which aren't lined so this is such good quality for me. Plus it's actually on offer on the website at the minute for just £30 (!!!) so I'd snap it up quickly!

Overall I'm super happy with my recent trip to Matalan!
Have you been there recently?

style | simple

You can never go wrong with black and white in my opinion. And this outfit is feeling pretty autumnal now - I'm pretty glad it's getting a bit colder in England because autumn is definitely my favourite season!

I just wore this simple textured top with my pom pom shorts, tights and boots. Then I added my spiky headband to add a little bit of interest to it - although this headband KILLS after a few hours of wear so let's see how long it lasts today!

HEADBAND: Primark

In other news, I've chopped my hair off again! I'm in a period where I love short hair on me so I had another few inches chopped off last week. I've also had a bit more blonde put through it but I still want to go even lighter on my next few visits!

What do you think of this outfit - and the weather we're having at the minute?

style | sister's birthday

jumpsuit - New Look
kimono - Primark
shoes - Miss Selfridge
sunglasses - Topshop
watch - Michael Kors 'bradshaw' (post)
nails - L'oreal Colour Riche 'pistachio drage' (review)

So today is my older sister's birthday and we are heading out for not one, but TWO meals today. Food baby expected by 9pm.

I've decided to finally wear this black jumpsuit that I ordered from New Look months ago but never got round to wearing. I actually find it pretty difficult to sit down in as the back drags down and shows my bra strap - I definitely don't find it as easy to wear as playsuits. I also find it clings a bit weird around my hips but my hips have always been a little on the big side! It's also a little bit short in the leg but I think I can JUST pull it off. Damn these long legs of mine!

Worn with my kimono and these flats I think it's a pretty good outfit to wear with the weather we're having - sunny but the constant chance of rain!

style | floral playsuit

floral playsuit | Miss Selfridge
necklace | H & M (old)
earrings | Topshop (old)

Picture-heavy post today! I had one of those days where every picture turned out quite nice and I wanted to use them all!

You can never go wrong with a playsuit in my opinion. I wore this lovely little outfit to one of my best friend's 21st parties last weekend and really loved wearing it. The playsuit is just really flattering, although a little on the short side on my super long body! Occasional bum shot sadly! I think this playsuit is so classy though, even with the shortness of it, and I felt like quite a lady in it! I also love the cutout, as it adds a bit of interest to the back of it, and I always like showing off my back as it's much classier than getting your boobies out!

I'd also have to say that this playsuit is so difficult to go to the toilet in after a few vodka and cranberrys - it opens with some buttons on the left shoulder and then a small zip but buttons are so damn difficult to do up when you're tipsy!

I just paired it with some new shoes from New Look and some nice understated gold jewellery.

In other news it's my 21st birthday this coming Sunday so I might be a little MIA over the next week or two!

style | i kind of shrunk my smock dress

smock dress | river island via asos
disco pants | new look
coat | fearne cotton at very
shoes | miss selfridge
bitch face | model's own

We've all been there haven't we: got caught up in another episode of PLL and accidentally forget about that drying we put on 40 minutes ago. I'm a prime suspect whenever it comes to shrinking clothes in my house and the newest victim was my lovely smock dress that I got last year.

It was always a tad short on me so after it got the shrinking treatment it's basically been hanging in my wardrobe looking all sorry for itself. I can just about get away with it with a pair of extremely thick tights - as long as there's not a hint of wind in the air or it would definitely be a case of 'HELLO LAURA'S BUTTCHEEKS!' so I decided to try it out with my disco pants and think it looks surprisingly nice. Smock dresses are a number one for me just because they are so comfy so I'm loving being able to wear this one still even after my slip up!

I'm also really glad I was able to get this coat out again - I bought it a year or two ago and have never really known how to wear it just because I thought the shape was quite unflattering on me. However, now that boyfriend coats are a 'thing' I think it's a lot more acceptable to have coats which aren't the most flattering so I've barely taken this one off!

Has anyone else had a major mishap with their clothes that they have somehow been able to work?!
Let me know!

the style post | patterned trousers

NECKLACE - p r i m a r k
LIPS - r i m m e l  m o i s t u r e  r e n e w  'i n  l o v e  w i t h  g i n g e r'

I never thought I'd be one for patterned pant - I've always loved them on other people but I thought they'd just make me look a bit weird! However, a couple of months ago I spotted these ones on New Look for only £10 so thought WHY NOT??

And they now are some of my favourite pants, as they can look really dressy or casual. Today I'm wearing them to uni (which I have to set off for in literally 10 minutes even though I haven't even had lunch yet! #studentproblems) so put them with a tee and boots.

I was a bit worried of wearing a textured tee with statement pants but I think I just get away with it because it's a white top! I'm also wearing my lovely new boots which were a Christmas present off my sister - so preeeedy.

I really had better get off and go to uni, short and sweet today.
Do you like statement pants? Would you wear a pair?

ps; I've had a complete redesign of my blog and have changed it up - what do you think??
I still think the header is a little too long yet but I'll change that at a later date. Let me know!
